I AM BACK AGAIN…

Yes, after such a long time of hibernation, what could I possibly be doing now….I ‘ve been so busy with work work and more work. This has been my everlasting reason to all of you for not writing a post for the past six –seven months. Students have complained, people at Yummy mag still has the caption to go to my blog which doesn’t have anything new to read about. The world started to get harder and harder, there was just so much opportunities that I had to do since age has a way of slowing you down. I don’t even know how long until my next posting but when the time comes for me to write, I do that immediately and not procrastinate.
What’s new with life? Well for one thing, Shiny the car has been changed to Mocha the SUV, if you are following this blog, I once wrote the Shiny was getting old and was getting too sickly so I decided to get a new vehicle and an SUV was just the right choice. Can you imagine how it would have been, so hard for me to move around after the Ondoy typhoon that swept Manila? but that is another story to write about. I am happy that the car runs on diesel and gives a better mileage than Shiny but bigger in size, harder to park, but with Apol around who needs parking?..hehehe.
Less time with friends is something that is a reality since all I do is work, but I enjoy my intimate time with close friends like Janice, Liane and some other form of earthling I don’t want everyone to know who. Bonding time with nephews and niece was great since we were all home during Ondoy and Pepeng, we were eating like cats and dogs at the Gavino house. Enjoyed eating and eating and sleeping, that was the only time I got to rest since I was also in school when the typhoon came to Manila.
Less travels to Davao for reasons I don’t want to talk about, I’m there for at least 4 days but still enjoying the best longanisa, Malagos cheeses and yes, pomelo and mangosteen even it cost me overweight, worth another ticket back to Manila. The cheeses, feta, chevre, goat’s cheese and goat camembert of Olive Puentespina is to die for…..made a few blends mixing it with some fresh arugula, capers and roasted tomatoes….heavenly! What else is there to do but eat….lately, I just go to one restaurant I really trust…that’s Mamou at Serendra, Malou’s Wild Boar Terrine with Mustard and Blueberry, her Bottarga Pasta and Prime Black Angus Rib Eye I can have everyday, only to die next week. Hehehe, and please the best Pecan Pie, Cheesecake and ohhh baby, the Key Lime Pie is definitely real…..Need I say more.
I have also been sick lately, my doctors are baffled since for the past month, I have pressure on my right ear, and when I have a cold the left one gets clogged. Two days ago, everything was stuffed including my nose so I complained and complained, was hot headed. I could not see my doctor right away since he was in Australia. So yesterday came, early morning, all the stuffiness and clogness were all gone….natakot sa doctor….allergy together with colds, and now, I am taking tons of medicines both oral and nasal nothing anal, I hope…
More news soon………………..
Another recipe invented during the typhoon vacation but we had school at that time…..?
ONDOY’S PASTA
Open a can of Century Tuna, Spanish Style, sauté in 1 tbsps minced garlic, ½ cup finely chopped onions. Use evoo will make it taste better. Then add in some chopped beef salami, the one you get in Santi’s 100gms is a lot, Add chopped fresh tomatoes around 3 pcs cook 5 minutes and toss in 250 gms cooked pasta al dente…
Delicious….forget the way the recipe was written, there was a typhoon right?

My favorite Chef, na-resurrect kang bigla. Alleluia! Missed you and your posts. Glad that you are ok despite the ear problem. Also having ear problem now. Dove in Apo Island a week ago with a cold - which I shouldn’t have done. Was not able to equalized underwater and it created havoc in my eardrums. Thanks for the Ondoy Pasta recipe. Will try it at home. Mwahugs!

Thanks for explaning in such detail on how to make Biryani’s. I like to have printed version in front of me when making Biryani. That way I do not have to keep going back the tape. Much appriciated.
